Over the past several years, my husband and I have had to travel across the country and we always stay in Colby during the journey. I tried the Hampton Inn at the beginning---it was very new, very clean, very comfortable and I was happy with it, but they didn't have a fridge or microwave in the room. Since we travel with our own food, that was a hassle. I since tried several other hotels in Colby and finally got fed up--overpriced, worn out, mediocre beds. I decided on this last trip to pay extra money and stay in the Hampton Inn. When I looked it up, it wasn't extra, it was actually a bit cheaper. When we arrived, I found that the rooms now have refrigerators and microwaves--yay! Still super clean and comfortable. I used the hot tub which was excellent. I even enjoyed the music they had piped into the pool area. The coffee was very good and the breakfast was okay. Hotel prices fluctuate, so it may be a bit more when you are looking at places, but if it is higher, it's worth the extra twenty bucks not to be uncomfortable or depressed by your surroundings. I wish I had checked back with them sooner as I tolerated a lot of overpriced, worn out rooms at other places in the area for far too long.

My room was modern, but cozy. I enjoyed my 2 nights here on a geocaching trip. My airline had misdirected my luggage, so I was on a road trip for 48 hours with only my purse. The room clerk, hearing this, went into the back and put together a care package for me of about 12 toiletries items she thought I could use. (The clerk in the hotel the day before didn't offer anything when she heard.) It really made a difference. They also made extra effort watching out for my bag when it did arrive.

Staff were friendly and worked hard. The hotel and room were clean, the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, with different hot options than other hotels. The staff who cleaned and restocked the breakfast did an excellent job. Grounds were easy to get in and out of with easy access to the freeway. When we booked the room, the price was more than we thought it should be, but the hotel turned out to be great so we changed our minds.

Mary

Breakfast was great. Extra things like cinnamon flavored pancake batter and sugar free syrup. Nice touch to have many clothes hooks in bathroom. Fresh cookies and coffee available at check in along with ice water-nice.

Janet

Very nice breakfast with eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles and more. Only issue was bathroom lighting and mirror were not conducive to applying makeup. Otherwise lovely room.
